Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared why he is reluctant to see any of his children pursue a career in music.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Vibe podcast, the award-winning artist said his position is based on the challenges he has experienced in the music industry.
Discussing the podcast, the father of six revealed that his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, has already shown interest in music and possesses a good singing voice. Despite her talent, he admitted he is cautious about encouraging her to follow the same path.
“I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. My second daughter [Hailey] is already leaning towards music. She is the life of the party. She behaves just like me. She actually has a good voice.

“But I know what I went through. Can you go through what I go through? Knowing what I have been through, I’m skeptical about encouraging any of my children to do music,” he said.
Although he hopes his children choose different careers, Davido said he would not stop them from following their dreams if music is what they truly want.
“But because my parents and my family eventually allowed me chase me dreams, I would never want to block any of my children from chasing their dreams. And if they are good, why not?”
